Anno 1800
For the most part of my time at Ubisoft I was working on the latest Anno title which is set in the 19th century.
The theme of the first Industrial Revolution meant designing the sound for heavy steam machinery and all sorts of exiting factories. Additionally I created the basic UI sound design, an ensemble of fiddly small mechanical sounds, contrasting the heavy machines, yet staying in the same acoustical realm.
Implementation-wise, Anno is a specifically complicated game. Some of the unique systems that had to be developed for the game, can be seen in this video by Anno’s main sound designer, Felix Maringer.
The game will be released in February 2019, but in this video you can get an early impression of the sound design
